About Conferences, Workshops, & Education Awards

Support is provided on a competitive basis for conferences , workshops , and other educational activities for dissemination of information relevant to research areas of Foundation interest. The expectation is that this sharing of knowledge will expand the scientific pool of researchers and benefit the scientific community as a whole.

EMF support for conferences and workshops is generally in the $2,000 to $10,000 range.  Applications for conferences or workshops should be brief (~ 2 pages), including a description of the meeting objectives, relevance to EMF programs, timing and venue, total budget, expected participants, requested level of EMF support, what specific component the EMF funding would support, other expected contributors, and if applicable, why support is being requested from EMF rather than traditional sources.  An agenda should be attached.

EMF requires designation of "named" sessions or speakers at conferences.  Proposals should indicate a session or speaker to be identified in the program as being supported by The Ellison Medical Foundation.  For conferences, the foundation does not support the travel of students or post-docs unless they will make platform presentations; poster presentations or simple attendance will not be supported.
